Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is to review the literature on the importance of Information Systems (IS) and process automation in Peruvian microenterprises, and how they can improve their efficiency and complexity in the market. The activities addressed were related to identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and proposing alternative solutions for the implementation of information systems and process automation in Peruvian microenterprises. The methodology used was PRISMA. Inclusion criteria were established considering relevance, contribution, time of publication, and studies related to the topic. The study demonstrates the existence of a lack of information systems implementation process in Peruvian microenterprises. The reasons are centered on limited economic resources, a poor purchasing power, the lack of knowledge about the benefits of technologies and the unstable perception of the contribution of information systems.
