Summary/Abstract: The paper is about observing and analyzing hetero-images (ideas about foreign countries and peoples) and self-images (ideas about one's own country and people) and their integration-related or subversive functions in the novelnarrative of Enlightenment Realism of the Renaissance period of Bosniak literature through which constant ideological antagonisms on the topics past – future, old – new, traditional – modern, East – West, etc. are stretched, and all of them are based on the conflict of two civilizations and cultures – Oriental Islamic and Western European.
