Summary/Abstract: The contribution presents selected digitised filmstrips that reflect the various aspects of the crisis. They are mostly documentation and news records to commemorate particular events. The artistic interpretation of the events is their inseparable aspect, although it is unfortunately tinged by the period of its origin, as documented by the film Rudá záře nad Kladnem (The Red Glow over Kladno) from 1955. The drama Siréna (Siren, 1947) based on the novel by Marie Majerová is another example. During the conference, a number of short film records were screened that reflect how filmmakers at the beginning of the First Czechoslovak Republic viewed the crisis. Many of them show, for example, the arrivals of legionaries in Prague and the members of the Hungarian-German delegation visiting the republic’s capital because of the war in the borderlands.
