Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of integration of creative industries in the processes of preservation and revitalisation of cultural heritage, using the example of glassmaking. The first part of the paper discusses the basic concepts of creative industries and their models of development driven by the changes in the socioeconomic environment. The second part of the paper presents a short history of the economic development of Paraćin and its glass industry, with special emphasis on glassmaking as an unwanted heritage, burden and obstacle to local development. The third part of the paper uses the project “Digital Glass Serbia” as a case study to illustrate the dimensions, possibilities and challenges of applying creative industries in the revitalisation and affirmation of cultural heritage.
