NEED FOR UNIQUENESS IN ADOLESCENCE

Summary/Abstract: This report examines the characteristics of the need for uniqueness in youth. In a number of conducted studies, it has been established that the aspiration of adolescents to belong to certain groups in society is simultaneously accompanied by their need to have their distinctiveness from others, and this in turn helps to build their unique personality. In the process of searching for ways to express their own uniqueness, young people also use various material possessions in order to develop and express their identity.
