The Examination of the Moderating Role of Perceived Psychological Contract on The Relationship Between Leader Member Exchange and Happiness at Work

Summary/Abstract: In this study; it is aimed to examine the relationship between leader member interaction and workplace happiness of employees and the moderating role of psychological contract perception in this relationship. In the study, the data obtained from the questionnaire form filled by 267 people working in workplaces operating in various sectors were used. In the light of the data obtained, correlation, regression and moderating effect analyzes were performed. According to the results of the analysis applied, it has been revealed that the leader member exchange has a positive and meaningful relationship with the happiness at work of the employees and the psychological contract perception. In addition, it has been determined that psychological contract perception has a meaningful and positive effect on happiness at work. On the other hand, according to the results of the Process macro analysis made according to Hayes' moderator relationship model, it was determined that the psychological contract perception has a moderator role in the relationship between leader member interaction and workplace happiness of employees. According to the results, it was revealed that all four hypotheses of the research were supported.
