Summary/Abstract: Miniature is the traditional art of depiction drawn with the help of special techniques on manuscripts to illuminate the text and make it more understandable. Illustration is the name given to pictures that undertake the function of explaining a picture by narrating it. In this context, both disciplines perform the storytelling function by describing facts and events.In the research, it is aimed to visually examine the miniatures and illustrations that have expressive and functional qualities in astronomy. The scope of the research is to examine the common aspects of the miniatures, designed on the inventions of Ali Kuşçu and Takiyuddin, who have an important place in the science of astronomy, with the concept of illustration, which is a visual expression way closer to our age, through the science of astronomy. The miniatures made on the studies of the scientists mentioned in the study on astronomy were examined visually and the common aspects of this traditional depiction method with illustration were emphasized.
