RÖNESANS SANATÇISINDA MİKROKOZMOS KAVRAMI
THE RENNAISSANCE ARTIST’S CONCEPTION OF MICROCOSMOS

Summary/Abstract: This study examines sources that form the basis of humanism that were interpreted in the Renaissance and how they formed the philosophy of art through the concept of microcosmos in the artist. The research aims to investigate how the philosophical concept of the microcosm influenced Renaissance artists' perceptions of creation and creativity. This concept is also a key aspect of the period's art philosophy. It reveals whether different personalities and examples of art have a similar understanding and what sort of humanist inspiration and creativity they offer by evaluating the writings and works of the period's artists. The main structure of the artist's understanding of microcosmos can be revealed through the writings and works of Renaissance men such as Marsilio Ficino, Pico della Mirandola, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Andrea Palladio. The macrocosm-microcosm analogy describes how everything in the universe is present in man, allowing him to attain the status of divinity.
