Summary/Abstract: The use of visual arts in educational content, while not a new practice, contributes significantly to the learning and teaching processes. In this context, the aim of this study is to conduct a literature review on the use of visual arts in the teaching of English at the primary school level. In order to achieve this goal, the study first discusses primary school English education in Turkey. Then, it summarizes the contributions of visual arts to English teaching by examining illustrations and other visual arts found in English teaching materials. As a result, the study presents the observed/identified positive effects of using visual arts in English teaching. It also outlines the limitations and research gaps identified in the teaching process, with the aim of contributing to researchers and art educators interested in working in this area
