Summary/Abstract: The intertextuality of Quranic verses, commonly employed in classical Arabic literature texts, not only reflects religious culture but also holds significant importance in the formation and shaping of modern Arabic literary works. Many authors convey their messages to readers by incorporating quotations from Quranic verses that contain universal principles, thus adding value to their works. Intertextuality, practiced through either the complete inclusion or partial extraction of verses, is a literary art that enhances the text both in terms of language, embellishing the composition, and in terms of meaning, enriching the world of interpretation within the work. Mourid al-Barghouti (1944-2021), a prominent figure in modern Arabic literature and a Palestinian poet, also employed the art of intertextuality in his poetic works. Al-Barghouti carefully selected the verses he used in his poems, drawing connections between the selected verse's narrative and contemporary issues, while comparing past and present times to address various matters. Therefore, this article aims to explore the utilization of Quranic intertextuality by Mourid al-Barghouti, examining its impact on his poems in terms of language, meaning, and aesthetics.
