Summary/Abstract: Purpose – Defined as the ability to use written materials to function effectively in society, literacy is a critical determinant of lifelong health and well-being. In this study, whether there is a significant difference between the demographic variables of the administrative and academic staff and students working at universities in terms of health literacy and financial literacy levels; It was aimed to determine whether financial literacy levels have a significant effect on health literacy. Design/methodology/approach – In the study, the quantitative research method using the relational survey model, which is among the general survey models, was used. Survey data were collected to test the scanning model with the convenience sampling method. The main population of the research consists of students aged 18 and over studying at universities in Turkey and academic and administrative staff working in these universities. 50 people selected from the main mass by convenience sampling constitute the sample of the study. The collected data were analyzed and evaluated using the SPSS 23 program. Findings – The findings of the study showed that while there were significant differences in financial literacy levels in terms of demographics, there were no significant differences in terms of health literacy levels. The relationship between participants' financial literacy levels and health literacy levels was measured by Pearson Correlation. A low, positive and significant relationship was found between these variables. It has been determined that the financial literacy level of individuals has a significant and positive effect on health literacy. Discussion – The average health literacy score of the participants is 96 out of 128 points, while the average financial literacy score is 13.42 out of 25 points. It can be said that the participants have an adequate level of health literacy, although not perfect; however, their financial literacy level is average.
