ETIMOLOGICAL VARIANTS FOUND IN ROMANIAN IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS

Summary/Abstract: Idioms, through their frequent use, enrich the expression, being borrowed from generation to generation, since they bring more meaning to ordinary words. Having a unitary meaning, idioms "colour" people's way of speaking and enter their linguistic baggage, which is everyone's linguistic treasure. In general, idioms host old words whose meanings are now lost, as well as old morphological variants that are replaced today by variants that were initially considered mistakes.
