Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the narrative analysis of own research conducted in the form of an on-line questionnaire on the experiences of patients with the mental health treatment process in public and private health care centers. 57 respondents took part in the survey, which consisted mainly of open-ended questions. The research is a starting point for anthropological reflection on the condition of a modern patient or client looking for support and effective methods among specialists and institutions in the treatment of mental disorders, diseases, and in resolving interpersonal conflicts. The analysis of the narrative allowed for the identification of four main threads: (1) uncertainty as a dominant in a relationship with a specialist (2) Mental health as a resultant of financial resources (3) Lack of a clear procedure for conducting pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy (4) Psychological crisis as an ambivalent social event. what is also vital is the fact that the phenomenon of increased critical attitudes of patients, which influences the change of the patient-doctor relationship.
