Summary/Abstract: Films constitute one the most popular cultural media among people aged 18 – 35. It is therefore quite recommendable to have them used in the Intercultural Communication class, where the primary aim is to raise awareness and, thus, improve cultural intelligence. By creating a learner-friendly environment, the use of films motivates students to identify meaning and acquire knowledge. The aim of this paper is to identify and discuss the best means to familiarise master level students in International Business with key intercultural communication concepts by using films. Thus, in order to analyse the impact, particularly in terms of overall cultural intelligence, of the film-watching experience and to report on the students’ feedback regarding the intercultural input, we selected the American sports drama Ford v Ferrari (2019), directed by James Mangold as a case in point. The results of our study show that the use of films in intercultural communication classes foster both increased cultural intelligence and language proficiency, while creating a more enjoyable learning experience.
