Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the mathematical terminology from the mathematical Algebra manual by Atanasijе‚ Nikolic from 1839. In addition to the basic data related to the concept of terminology and the development of the given scientific fields, the paper also contains data on the author and the language in which the text was written. The excerpted material refers to the mathematical terms and it is presented in the form of a dictionary, with notes on lexicographic processing. The analysis conducted in the paper refers to the origin and structure of words. The noted terminological system was compared with the terminological system of the modern Serbian language in the field of mathematics, in order to determine the reasons for the preservation and / or loss of certain terms.
