Summary/Abstract: One of the main purposes of this paper is to discuss and examine the practical trends in the digitalization of processes in the banking industry, which is a consequence of technological evolution. The focus is on proposing specific guidelines and suggestions for the application of certain technologies, which will lead to technological improvement and to an increase in efficiency and profitability. The results show that, despite the dominant opinions of scholars in literature, the application of new technologies is practically a long, complex, and labour-intensive process, accompanied by high costs.
