Summary/Abstract: The article discusses instructions concerning care, education and safety of children written by Ludwika Maria née Rzewuska Chodkiewiczowa. Driven by maternal concern, distant from her children she wrote down her comments and recommendations for their guardians. These were instructions for the journeys of Chodkiewicz's sons and daughter (1781) concerning the manner and speed of travel, accommodation, food and care. Another set are moral recommendations (1784) for her first-born son Wacław, who returned home after a few years' stay at a boarding school in Warsaw, and finally instructions for the departure of her youngest son Aleksander to Warsaw. These instructions can be found in the Młynowski Chodkiewicz Archive.
