Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the problem of reflecting political and ideological changes in Poland after 1945 on the pages of history textbooks. It focuses in particular on the changes in the approach to the topic of dining etiquette in the periods when reforms of the educational system were taking place: during the communist regime in the years 1945–1989 and after 1989. Based on historiographic findings, as well as taking into con- sideration the tendencies developed by general and history didactics, it draws attention to the selection of educational content in history textbooks, influenced by various factors.
