Summary/Abstract: Purpose: Research and creation of effective methods of improving strategic management in order to develop international companies using a cross-functional approach. Design/Method/Approach: Process approach, structural analysis, quantitative analysis, dialectical, abstract-logical methods of cognition, factorial, comparative approaches, methods of empirical generalization, integral assessment, strategic analysis, as well as methods of matrix and graphic visualization of statistical data are used. Findings: Conceptual provisions of strategic management regarding the development of the market activity of international companies have been developed, which take into account the specifics of the implementation of strategic planning functions, which are based on the results of structuring the problems of scientific and technological development, taking into account the basic provisions of corporate management, which reveal the requirements for the strategic management process when making effective management decisions in environment of international companies. A methodical approach to the evaluation of the strategic management system for the development of international companies has been developed, which is based on the evaluation of the elements included in its composition, which is distinguished by the definition of the integral indicator of strategic planning depending on the size of the occupied area on the evaluation matrix, which takes into account the totality of resources used by the company for developing or maintaining international markets. An approach to the formation of a project team that carries out strategic planning of the development of an international company is proposed, based on the implementation of the principle of cross-functionality, which allows taking into account motivational and demotivational factors affecting the development of members of the project group and carrying out current regulation of the team taking into account the cross-functional interaction of its members at implementation of individual competences in the company's application of a system approach in corporate management. Theoretical Implications: The theoretical significance of the research lies in the substantiation of the provisions that update methodological approaches to the implementation of strategies of international companies, taking into account their branch affiliation, about the use of specific methods and tools of strategic management, modeling the choice of priority areas of market development. Practical Implications: The practical significance of the study is that the conclusions and recommendations can be used by international companies during the improvement of the system support of the strategic management system, as well as the practical application of reasonable provisions for the development of market presence and competitive struggle. Originality/Value: An adaptive system of strategic management of the development of international companies was formed on the basis of a cross-functional approach, characterized by a structural composition (controlling, managed, providing subsystems), which takes into account the influence of the input factors of the internal environment, aimed at obtaining effective strategic decisions in the field of determining the priority directions of corporate development. Research Limitations/Future Research: The conclusions and results obtained during the research significantly develop the theoretical apparatus of the study of the strategic management system of international companies and can be used during further development of the problems of improving the strategic process in the international corporate sector.
