Summary/Abstract: For effective supply chain management, it is necessary to know about the risks associated with its functioning. Hence, the aim of the work was to assess the risk in the supply chain on the example of a food wholesaler. For the purpose of comparative analysis, the supply chain was divided into four stages, i.e. goods receipt, storage, transport and information flow. The risk assessment was performed using the Risk Score method by selecting twelve basic and most common hazards occurring during food distribution. The results of the conducted research showed that the greatest number of threats result from theft of goods, vehicle breakdown, collisions or road accidents. A relatively high risk also concerns mistakes when introducing goods to the warehouse and failure or interruption of the internal flow of information. On the other hand, the smallest risk occurred with incorrect labeling of goods.
