Summary/Abstract: This article provides an overview of the directions of actions to improve the functioning of food supply chains in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the study is to identify the directions for developing the concept of functio- ning food supply chains, strategies, methods, tools and innovations used during a pandemic. The main methods used in the article are literature review and case studies. On a theoretical basis, the directions of shaping supply chains and their possibilities in solving the task of food supply are presented. The article assesses potential supply and demand disruptions in food supply chains, including labor shortages, transport network disruptions, warehouse economy disruptions and in- ventory management. Selected strategies for the functioning of food supply chains used in the pandemic era were analyzed. Finally, the paper considers whether the COVID-19 pandemic will have a long-term impact on the nature of food supply chains and identifies possible future research lines in the area concerned.
