Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on reasons have leaded to the new wave of merges, mainly observed in the industrial developed countries. The wave is caused by many factors most important of which are: contemporary science-technical progress, economical regionalism and globalisation. Most of the merges are horizontal. The internationalisation of the property of mega companies gets more and more expended. Centralization of the capital solves a great number of current problems but in the same time exacerbates the existing contradictions and creates new ones. This wave continues in spite of the sharp slowdown lowliness in 2001 but no wonder if after recession it amplifies again.
