Summary/Abstract: Bibliometric analysis is an important working tool through which the quantitative indicators of scientific works are established. Bibliometrics aims to measure and quantify scientific works by means of mathematical calculation methods and the generation of statistical data. Scientific works include PhD theses, which are classified according to specific parameters and indicators. Our research was based on the analysis of the specialized literature of authors from different countries who approached the bibliometric analysis for the study of PhD theses and the establishment of various peculiarities of this process. At the same time, after the analysis of the specialized literature, we tried to implement the bibliometric method for the research of some aspects of the PhD theses from the Republic of Moldova. Despite all the limitations of using bibliometric analysis in the research of PhD theses, we consider it to be a useful tool for establishing and drawing conclusions regarding the particularities and trends of the process of supporting PhD theses.
