Summary/Abstract: The symbol is used as an expressive method in art and literature, through which an idea or a state of mind is suggested, but also as a conventional way used in science and technology to note certain notions, operations, quantities or formulas. In approaching the casuistry of symbols, a certain ranking, a classification of them must be followed, depending on their appearance, as well as their evolution. Mythical symbols have their origin in the earliest age of mankind, the primitive age about which we have little constituent elements and information. The creative thought of primitive man revolved, at first, around a small number of objects - it formed a confused mixture of them. The moon its decrease - the disk eaten by an animal - hunting - animal, this is how the ideas of the prehistoric man succeeded from one object to another. The hand - muscular effort - the imprint of the hand - tracing its outline - the hand next to the animal - success in hunting, formed a chain in the consciousness of prehistoric man.
