Summary/Abstract: The article presents a comparison analysis of the stylistic features of the Greek original and the Slavonic translation of the “Encomium about the restoration of the temple of St George the Victorious” written by Arcadius of Cyprus in the 3rd century CE. It is ascertained that in condition to achieve an artistic suggestion Arcadius of Cyprus uses multiple stylistic figures: repetitions, anaphoras, mesophores, gradations, syntactic parallelism, antitheses, rhetorical questions. The parallel examination of the two texts allows to establish that in most cases in the Old Bulgarian translation the same rhetorical techniques are used and the Greek model is followed, even though this mirroring lacks in distinct cases. The texts are issued in Supplement 1 and Supplement 2 where the Slavonic translation is published according to the transcript which is located in Menaion Panegyric for September-January, № 107, which is from the 14th century and is kept at the Zograf Monastery’s library.
