Depression as a factor for suicidal behavior

Summary/Abstract: The challenges of the new age, the technological boom, the fast pace of events, in most cases with a negative sign - crises, pandemics, wars, the sharp devaluation of traditional values, made it extremely difficult for the personality to adapt to the new conditions and seriously threaten not only the physical survival, but also the mental health of people. As a result of all these changes, a significant number of people surrender and decide to end their lives. Suicide and suicide attempts have become one of the most important problems of our modern society. This article reviews depression as one of the main determinants of suicidal behavior.
