Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the survey was to determine the current status of substance abuse prevention and the use of school-based prevention programmes focusing on substance abuse problemsin the school environment among the intact population and students with ADHD. The survey instrumentwas an electronic questionnaire addressed to prevention coordinators in primary schools in Slovakia. A random sample of 250 Slovak primary schools was selected and contacted by e-mail. 76 primary schools participated in the survey, i.e. 76 prevention coordinators made up the available sample of respondents. According to the available survey results, we can conclude that the level of activation of primary schools in the prevention of drug use is at a good level, with worse results obtained when taking into account the specificities of pupils with ADHD as a risk group of drug users in the prevention process, where the readiness and awareness of the teaching staff is at a low level. Prevention coordinators do notconsider students with ADHD as a high-risk group of drug users, do not use selective prevention methods and treat these students in the same way as students from the intact population.
