Summary/Abstract: The article substantiates that the cultural-historical type of society determines the specific process of socialization. In the information society, socialization features associated with the crisis of traditional institutions of socialization and inclusion of the individual in social relations are complemented by the use of modern information and communication technologies, creating trends of conversion to a creative model of socialization and to increasing of opportunities for manipulation of people’s minds. It is stated that values of the information society necessitate the development of personality traits and qualities such as professionalism, spirituality, social responsibility, and creative ability to build and implement their own life project based on culture and general social norms.
