Jiří Mahen and Vladislav Vančura in Collective Monographs Edited by Jiří Poláček

Summary/Abstract: Two collective monographs were published in the past two years under the editorial leadership of Jiří Poláček, in which he is largely identical the collective of authors focused on examining sub-chapters from life and the works of Jiří Mahen (Jiří Mahen in the plural) and subsequently Vladislav Vančura (Vladislav Vančura in the literary context of the 20th century). The monographs were created as collections of contributions from conferences devoted to them precisely to these authors and the method of their processing was carried in a similar spirit. Due to the number of identical features of both publications it is therefore appropriate to review books at the same time and offer them as well appropriate comparison.
