Summary/Abstract: Victor Wittner's volume ”Der Mann zwischen Fenster und Spiegel” (1929), illustrates and records in a lyrical register the Bukovinian poet's journey from Expressionism to Neue Sachlichkeit. This article analyses the permanent balancing act between inside and outside, between inclusion and acceptance by the community and exile or ostracism, between corporeality and spirituality, also between reflection as mirroring and reflection as contemplation.
