Summary/Abstract: EU legislation does not provide a definition of fraud in the agri-food chain. Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1715 defines a "fraud notification" in IRASFF and therefore indicates the key elements to consider. In this sense, agri-food fraud is "a failure to comply with any suspected intentional action by businesses or natural persons, with the aim of deceiving buyers and obtaining an undue advantage from it, in violation of the rules referred to in Article 1 paragraph (2) of Regulation (EU) 2017/625"
