Summary/Abstract: A courier post was a new phenomenon in the Habsburg monarchy in 1830s and 1840s, used for shipping parcels, cash, and, in some cases, for transportation of people, usually on secondary tracks. The register of communication lines was managed by Postal Administration Headquarters and, after 1850, by Ministry of Commerce in Vienna. The paper brings an analysis of records on postal communication lines through the territory of Bohemian Lands and carries out its evaluation from various points of view (establishment and cancellation, interaction with other communications, timetables, securing of postal traffic). As a part of the study, there is a table with overview of all postal communication lines of this type in Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia in the time from 1830s to 1890s.
