Summary/Abstract: At the end of 1752, Johann Carl Conrad Oelrichs assumed the position of a professor of law at the Szczecin Academic Gymnasium. Hailing from Berlin and educated in Frankfurt (Oder), Oelrichs took a keen interest in history, the history of literature, and science. Throughout his stay in Szczecin, he led a reading circle organized by him and successfully combined his teaching duties with publishing activities. Access to the literature and sources gathered in the school library, particularly Pomeranian materials, influenced the thematic focus of his scholarly work, which centered on issues related to the history of Pomerania. By the end of his tenure in September 1773, he had published nearly 40 historical and legal publications, as well as significant bibliological works and bibliographies containing information about Pomeranian literature from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
