Summary/Abstract: The study deals with a theoretical, methodical and methodological contribution of the historian and archivist František Hoffmann (1920–2015) to archival science. It is devoted especially to the problems of structural principle in keeping of records, methodical problems of elaborating difficult archival fonds and Hoffmann´s thoughts about scientific character of archival workplaces.
