Summary/Abstract: The duke Kosta Milovanovic Pecanac is one of the important figures of recent Serbian history. A number of works was written on his participation in Serbian guerilla warfare in Macedonia, Toplice Uprising and the Second World War. However, his activities from the end of the First World War until August 1919, when he gave a statement to the Board of Inquiry of the People’s Assembly on his role in Toplice Uprising, remained unknown. The duke and the small unit of his chetnik troops were still engaged in maintaining order in Metohija. Their unresolved status, as well as the public appearances of the duke contributed to the idea in the ruling military and civilian circles that the unit should be disbanded.
