Summary/Abstract: This research aims to present and evaluate research conducted using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and the Malmquist index on Polish educational institutions. A systematic and critical review of the literature on the subject was used to illustrate the progress of research on primary and secondary education. The studies were analysed for various criteria, considering 1) DEA and Malmquist index mod- els, 2) groups and level of analysis of the educational system, and 3) data sources and variables adopted for the study. The review results show that while there is little research on Polish educational education compared to the analysis of higher education, it is relatively more diverse than universities. Given that there has previously been no review of studies on the use of the DEA method and the Malmquist index for analysing the educational system in Poland, this article has filled the gap. In addition, undeveloped areas have been identified, as well as data sources and models used in previous research, which should guide future researchers involved in educational system analysis to develop further and expand their research.
