Summary/Abstract: In his paper, Ludwig Flaszen, an experienced repertory adviser of Theatre Labora¬tory and one of the closest collaborators of the internationally acclaimed theatre pro¬fessional Jerzy Grotowski, gives an account of Grotowski's theatrical experiments at Opole and Wroclaw in the 1960s and 1970s. He pays special attention to the phenomena of sound and silence in Grotowski's productions, to the research of the possibilities of putting voice to use for artistic purposes, to articulated and unarticulated sound and silence in theatrical production. Flaszen's testimony is a valuable contribution to the information sources on Grotowski's theatrical experiments.
