Summary/Abstract: Financial resources are essential for economic growth, social and health security system, unemployment and poverty reduction, state welfare and the development of community. Globalisation has contributed positively to an ongoing process of seeking, exploring, evaluating and selecting the ways of new sources of financing by encouraging and attracting additional international financing. The goal of this paper is to research innovative financial mechanisms that improve an access to the capital available for financing of development. In addition, the focus is also on innovative trends in financing used in Slovakia. The theoretical analysis of innovative trends in finance alternatives in Slovakia and other EU member states is discussed.
