Higher education as an effective tool of state policy

Summary/Abstract: The importance of higher education in the current globalized world is increasing every year and will continue in the coming decades. Higher education can be seen as a focal point of knowledge creation and its application. It is an 'institution' which makes a significant contribution to economic growth and development through the promotion of innovation and upskilling. It is a way to improve the quality of life and address major societal and global challenges. Higher education is generally defined as one of the main drivers of growth, prosperity and competitiveness. This paper deals with the importance of education as an instrument of political power of the state. The aim is to point out not only the historical aspect of the importance of education, but to highlight the current role of education as a competitive advantage in promoting foreign policy interests. In order to fulfill this goal of the paper, the method of historical analysis and the method of analysis of available resources were used. The used research technique is a descriptive analysis of qualitative and narrative sources in the form of secondary data. The examined secondary data were obtained by collecting documents and literature.
