Summary/Abstract: This paper presents how to conduct a research campaign in order to take information on local and regional history. It presents the success and failure in the anthropological field research carried out for scientific-historical purposes and its organization. All the reports are based on the case study: the field research "Stone crosses from the Bucu-Ograda and Poiana areas, Ialomiţa county".The Bucu-Ograda area is presented through the campaign started in 2017, in order to take over the documents with Cyrillic characters from the stone crosses, by taking photos of objects and information on video of the inhabitants of the area. The paper presents the unexpected result regarding the identification of new crosses in the area, the purpose of their presence, their relocation, post-construction history, the history of families in the area and fragments of local history - the development of major events through the eyes and experience of residents. The Poiana area is presented through the 2018-2019 campaign, which was initially for the identification and cataloging of some crosses from the old village of Bărăgan, Poiana de Jos. Starting from the information about a cemetery with only a few old crosses - the original place of the wooden church of St. Nicholas (18th century), we came to know that: the old place of the village was moved and then was moved the little church too, the village had the point crossing to the Ialomiţa River on the road to transhumance, they had a defensive system through the so-called Turkish pits and the total number of crosses is about 80, most relocated, dating from the nineteenth century.
