Summary/Abstract: The paper tackles the individual and social consequences of the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by migrants reviewing some theoretical and methodological facets directly related to the concept of social capital. We conclude that ICTs increase the social capital of migrants. However, there are several threads about the specific sub-type of social capital increased (the bonding social capital versus the bridging and linking ones) depending on the dynamics of the migratory experience. In any case, more empirical researches are needed to deepen the understanding of the impacts of ICTs on migrants concerning their contribution to integration and social cohesion.
