Summary/Abstract: The present study represents the perception of the sons regarding their relationship with the father, when they remained in the mother's care, and the father left the residence, in the marital divorce. A qualitative analysis of the sons' perception and the effects of divorce on the relationship between father and son are highlighted, from several perspectives, namely: the age of the child, the duration and intensity of the conflict between the parents, but also the quality of the son's relationship with the father, before the father leaves domicile, following the divorce. The boy can suffer because of the father's departure, having sometimes very strong resentment towards him, even hatred, especially when, being younger, he considers that the father no longer loves him and has left him to found another family, or when the reason divorce was the repeated assault of the mother by the violent father. It is difficult for sons to adapt, following the father's departure from home, as a result of the parents' divorce.
