Summary/Abstract: The article published an account of the Lithuanian Treasurer and Lithuanian Field Hetman Wincenty Korwin Gosiewski on the negotiations with the Elector of Brandenburg, Frederick William, held in Welawa on September 17–21, 1657 and the signing of the treaty between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Brandenburg-Prussia. A copy of the account, not yet used in research, is stored in the Archives of the Archdiocese of Warmia in Olsztyn. A fragment of a similar account (without specifying the addressee), but written entirely in Latin, was published by Antoni Walewski. The introduction points to the lack of a monograph based on a wide archival query devoted to diplomatic negotiations, which ended with the treaty’s signing.
