Sources of funding for international terrorist organizations

Summary/Abstract: The study represents an analysis of the sources and methods of financing international terrorist organizations. Thus, the article examines the forms of supplying these organizations with financial means and other resources, which are subsequently used in the terrorist attacks planned by terrorist groups. Over the past decades, armed terrorist groups have managed to build their own economy, a new economy of terrorism. This economic system emerged during the “Cold War” years when warfare conducted by using of third forces was actively waged on the periphery of the two blocks and significantly increased during the process of privatizing terrorism, when armed groups developed various self-financing strategies.
