Regional and National Media Relations with Healthcare Institutions between 2006-2011 and Their Specifics

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to propose a recommendation for publication of the healthcare institution press releases. The paper deals with the results of media communications content analysis in the field of health service and health facilities within the studied period. The period under consideration is from 1st January 2006 till 31st December 2011. The emphasis is laid on the identification of the press media during the chosen period. The research is focused on all main daily newspapers and weekly magazines with countrywide and regional scope. The number of monitored media is 82 and the number of monitored articles dealing with health service and facilities is 9250. The analysis confirmed that Czech media are more interested in publishing negative articles. Media are also aimed at the public healthcare institutions and the theme appears more in national issues rather than in regional. The findings of this paper present the insufficient cooperation of local healthcare institutions with regional media.
