Change in Value of Location - Public Interest in Regeneration of Selected Brownfields

Summary/Abstract: All types of brownfields are created for specific reasons and one of the main causes is the state economy restructuring as well as restructuring of the economy of particular regions. This restructuring is the result of radical changes in social and economic structures which are characterized by the move of the workforce from primary to tertiary economic sphere. The objective of this contribution is to present the methodology for evaluation of the potential of change in the value of location (brownfields) from the point of view of public interest in three selected brownfields. From the results found, we can see that the minimum value from the point of view of public interest is in the industrial area in Prachatice, on the other hand the value of brownfields of the former glass works in Lenora and former industrial area of the company Jitona Vimperk is very specific from the point of view of public interest.
