Possibilities of introducing an own resource of the EU Budget Based on Income from fines

Summary/Abstract: Revenues from fines imposed by EU institutions are currently budgeted as oth¬er revenues within the revenue side of the EU budget, and thus acording to the legal sys¬tem of the EU they are not considered as own resources of the EU budget. Following the above, in the presented contribution the authors deal with the assessment of the possibili¬ties of introducing a new own source of the EU budget based on income from fines and evaluate this potential new own source through the prism of defined evaluation criteria.
