Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the concept and evaluation of regional competitiveness in terms of the EU. The aim of the paper is to present a theoretical concept of regional competitiveness and the possibility of its evaluation through integrated indices based on the EU growth strategies. The empirical part of the paper is focused on the regional competitiveness analysis across the EU in the context of Lisbon strategy through the index of regional competitiveness for regional competitiveness evaluation in the case of 35 NUTS 2 Visegrad Four regions.
