Summary/Abstract: As a part of original competencies a municipality provides utilities such as building and maintaining of local streets and roads, public areas, public green areas and public lighting, public cemetery, waste – handling, small building waste – handling etc. The evaluation and recognition of expanditures for communal utilities providing is a very demanding and complicated process. One of possible and usable methods for evaluating of these services is benchmarking. The municipalities can choose benchmarking standards – result or process ones. In this article we used result benchmarking as one of possible evaluation tools of provided utility service in selected municipalities
