Individual Authenticity as Integral Part of New Universalism

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the issues of immediate interest towards social and political theories and stimulates the need for more intensive discussion. It confronts relevancy of individual authenticity within the process of reformulating basic universal principles in postmodernism which, according to social theoreticians, undergo by crucial transformation. A focus of attention is on the fact that a new form of paradigm related to universalism is coming to its existence and opinions about its optimal forms correspond to requirements of introducing Farrera’s normative ideal of authenticity. The paper takes into consideration the third generation representatives with their opinions on the critical theory.
